Recipe for Spaghetti Bolognese with chutney – serve with a freshly buttered french loaf.
1 teaspoon margarine
500g mince meat
3/4 Packet of Spaghetti
1 bottle Pasta sauce – Fattis and Monis Tuscan Style
3 tsp worcester sauce
1 tsp mild curry powder
3 tomatoes; chopped up
2 onions; chopped up
Parmesan cheese; optional for serving
French loaf cut up and buttered (optional)
Put the teaspoon of margarine or a teaspoon of oil into a large pot and heat. Add the chopped onions and tomatoes and saute’ over low heat until soft.
In a bowl, add the chutney, curry powder and worcester sauce. Add the bottle of pasta sauce to this mixture and mix in well.
Add this mixture to the tomato and onion mix. Stir and bring to the boil.
Add the mince meat and mix into the sauce well (ensure there are no lumps in the mince). Cook the mince over low heat for approx half an hour, stirring occasionally.
In another pot, bring water to the boil, add a few pinches of salt and a teaspoon of oil. Add the spaghetti and cook until soft.
Once the bolognaise sauce is done, add the drained pasta to the sauce. Top with parmesan cheese and serve with warm crusty bread or fresh french loaf cut up and buttered.
