Pear & Gruyere Grilled Cheese recipe

Ingredients
1 cup red wine
¼ cup sugar
Cranberry Pistachio Bread (or alternative fruit and nut bread)
Sweet, ripe pears, sliced
Gruyere Cheese
Baby Swiss Cheese
Butter

How to
Place the red wine and sugar in a heavy-bottomed sauce pan.

Heat over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Reduce to low and let cook until thick (like a syrup) about 20 to 30 minutes.

Once the syrup is ready, assemble the sandwiches by stacking the cheeses and sliced pears onto a slice of bread. Drizzle a little sweet wine reduction on top and top the sandwich with another slice of bread.

Butter the slices of bread and place on a preheated grilled or flat skillet.

Cook 2-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread has browned on both sides and the cheese is melted.
Serve.
