An easy to follow recipe for German Apple Tart
1 Tin Apple pieces
1/2 Cup White sugar
4 Ozs Margarine
2 Cups Cake Flour
2 rounded tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Vanilla essence
A pinch of salt
1/2 Tsp Cinnamon (optional)
1/2 tsp Nutmeg (optional)
Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
Cream sugar and margarine.
Add well beaten egg and vanilla essence.
Sift in flour, salt and baking powder and mix well.
Knead the dough to make pliable.
Press into tart dish.
Fill the tart with apple pieces (you can sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg with the apple pieces).
Use some of the juices from the tinned apple.
Bake for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown.
