Fill the cookie jar with this recipe for Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
100g butter, softened
150g light brown sugar
1 large egg
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
150g plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp cocoa
100g dark chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 180C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
Place the butter and light brown sugar in bowl and cream together until soft and fluffy. (Using a freestanding mixer or electric beater is easiest!)
Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix in. Sift in the flour, baking powder and cocoa and mix to combine. Lastly, mix in the chocolate chips.
Roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls and arrange on the tray allowing a little room for spreading. Flatten each ball slightly with the palm of your hand.
Pop the tray in the oven for 10 minutes, then rotate the tray 180 degrees and bake for a further 5 minutes. Carefully transfer the cookies to a cooling rack. (They will be very soft but will harden on cooling.)
Allow to cool completely before serving.
